What is a Seamless Pipe?
A seamless pipe is manufactured without any weld seam — formed entirely from a solid steel billet that is pierced and shaped into a hollow tube under high heat and pressure.
The absence of a weld joint gives seamless pipes superior pressure resistance, uniform wall thickness, and greater structural integrity — making them the preferred choice for high-pressure fluid lines and critical structural columns.
How It's Made
Billet Selection
A solid round steel bar (billet) is selected and inspected for quality and grade.
Heating
The billet is heated to a high temperature for hot-working without cracking.
Piercing
A mandrel pierces the billet to create a hollow tube through the centre.
Rolling & Stretching
The hollow tube is elongated and shaped to the required OD using rolling mills.
Finishing
The pipe is straightened, cut to length, tested, and surface-treated for dispatch.
What is an ERW / Semi-Seamless Pipe?
An ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) pipe is formed from a flat steel strip that is roll-formed into a cylinder and seam-welded using electric resistance heat. When further cold-drawn or processed to eliminate the visible weld, it is referred to as a semi-seamless pipe.
A semi-seamless pipe is a welded pipe that is processed or finished to resemble a seamless pipe in terms of surface quality, roundness, and wall thickness uniformity — offering a cost-effective alternative for general structural applications.

Raw Material Preparation
HR steel strips or coils are slit to the required width for the target pipe OD.
Pipe Forming (ERW)
Strip is roll-formed into a cylinder and seam-welded using electric resistance heat.
Bead Removal & Sizing
Internal and external weld bead is removed; pipe is sized to exact OD and roundness.
Heat Treatment
Pipe is normalised to relieve weld stress and improve mechanical properties.
Cold Drawing
Pipe is cold-drawn to achieve tight dimensional tolerances for OD and wall thickness.
Straightened & Inspected
Pipe is straightened, cut to length, NDT-tested, and inspected before dispatch.
